Who We Are

As a Brazilian-born, UK trained nurse, the TENON Managing Director brings a comprehensive understanding of the international recruitment process. This is based on a detailed knowledge of the relocation challenges experienced by overseas candidates and extensive expertise in managing the UK healthcare workforce.

Samara Lamb - Managing Director

Samara was born in Brazil but has lived the majority of her life in the UK. She qualified with a first-class honours degree in Adult Nursing from the University of Southampton in 2011 and is fully registered within part 1 of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register. Samara went on to gain her qualifications as an independent and supplementary prescriber. Samara pursued further post-graduate qualifications and holds an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice from the University of Southampton (2016) and a further MSc in Professional Research Methods from the University of Portsmouth (2022). Additionally, Samara successfully completed her training with the NHS Nye Bevan Programme in 2023. Samara has enjoyed many years in clinical practice and latterly has gone on to senior leadership and management roles, most recently as a Head of Nursing. Outside of Nursing, Samara enjoys the outdoors and learning about the world through extensive travel. She has a natural ability to engage with people and to lead teams. Her core values are built around commitment, enthusiasm and compassion and this permeates all aspects of her work.

Profa. Maria Tereza Alcoléa - Recruitment Consultant

Maria Tereza is an Educator, Educational Supervisor, Educational Coordinator and Social Worker and has been a Senior Lecturer in Postgraduate and Professional Improvement courses in various Universities in Brazil. Her extensive experience in the area of Public Health and the Unimed System is what drives her passion for ensuring candidates are well informed in making a decision on their area of healthcare placement. A lover of dogs and books, with her kind nature and outgoing personality she still finds time to be involved in a number of charity programmes. Maria Tereza is an expert in finding hidden talent - her attention to detail reinforces her talent in selecting the best candidate for a specific post.

Carolina Lamb - Business Support Officer

Carolina is a student nurse at the University of Manchester and in her spare time helps to provide stability to our back office. Fluent in both Portuguese and English, she often makes contact with candidates and organisations. Carolina delights in travelling and live music, often combining the two. Dedication is her most impressive quality and Carolina has been an NHS Parliamentary Awards regional winner in the NHS Rising Star category.

Geoff Smith - Operations Manager

Geoff Smith has an academic background with two Bachelor of Science degrees in Open Science and Psychology which initially led him to an occupation as a research analyst. When his 1-year old son received a life-saving liver transplant, Geoff was inspired to retrain as a paediatric nurse and went on to gain a distinction in his PGDip in Nursing Children from the University of Southampton. Having worked the last decade as a fully registered paediatric nurse, Geoff has an extensive range of experience spanning neonatal intensive care and paediatric emergency care. Whilst providing leadership as a Paediatric Charge Nurse, Geoff was prominently involved in the development of a new Children’s Emergency Department. This ambitious project created a tailor-made space to enhance the comfort of children presenting with emergency pathology and also involved a 500% growth of the paediatric nursing workforce. Geoff’s special interests include human factors in healthcare, service improvement and nursing education. Geoff has enjoyed successfully mentoring numerous students and overseas-trained nurses who have successfully adapted to the NHS. Outside of work, Geoff is devoted to his young family and revels in opportunities to ride motorcycles and physically train with running.
